Brevo
Sync form submissions from UpForm to a Brevo contact list. After contacts land in Brevo, you can run automations such as welcome emails.
This guide covers the workflow automation connection. To send UpForm emails through Brevo SMTP instead, see Configure Brevo SMTP.
Before you begin
- You need a Brevo account.
- In UpForm, enable Save submission data for the form. Workflow sync will not run if submissions are not saved. See General.
- Brevo menus and labels can change. If something does not match exactly, use Brevo’s search or help for API keys, lists, and contact attributes.
Connect Brevo in UpForm
- In UpForm, open Settings → Workflow automation.
- Click Add workflow automation provider.
- Under Select provider, choose Brevo.
- Enter a Title for this connection (for example,
Brevo – UpForm). - Leave the modal open (or return after you create the key), then continue to generate an API key in Brevo.

Generate a Brevo API key
- Sign in to your Brevo account.
- Open your account menu (profile or account name), then go to Settings.

- Open SMTP & API, then select the API Keys tab.

- Click Generate a new API key.

- Name the key (for example,
UpForm Shopify Integration), then click Generate.

- Copy the key immediately. Brevo typically shows it only once.

- Return to UpForm, paste the key into API key, enable Active if shown, then click Save.

Prepare a Brevo list and attributes
Create or select a contact list
- In Brevo, go to CRM → Contacts → Lists.
- Create a new list or open an existing list where form contacts should be added.

Create contact attributes
You can sync any UpForm form. The screenshots below use an example contact form with fields such as name, email, phone, message, needs, and budget.

Create contact attributes in Brevo for any form answers that do not already have a matching attribute. Standard attributes such as email or first name may already exist.
- In Brevo Settings, open Contacts → Contact attributes.

- Review existing attributes.

- Click Add a new attribute, enter an Attribute Name (for example,
NEEDS,BUDGET, orMESSAGE), choose an Attribute Type (for example, Text), then create the attribute.

Repeat until every form field you want to sync has a matching Brevo attribute.
Enable Brevo on a form
- Open the form in the form builder (or create one from a template).
- Open the General tab → Workflow automation.
- Enable Sync submission data with Brevo.
- Select the Provider you connected earlier.
- Under Select list, choose the Brevo list you prepared.

You can also click Add for Brevo from this section if you have not connected a provider yet.
Map form fields
In the mapping table, match each form field (Label / Name) to a Brevo attribute under Mapping.
Example mapping for a contact form:
| Form field | Brevo attribute (example) |
|---|---|
| Name | FIRSTNAME |
| Email address | Email address (or EMAIL) |
| Phone number | PHONE |
| Message | MESSAGE |
| What do you need help with? | NEEDS |
| Your estimated budget | BUDGET |

Map every field you want stored in Brevo, then Save the form and Publish it to your storefront.
Test the sync
- On the live storefront, submit the form with complete test data.
- Wait about 30–60 seconds.
- In Brevo, open CRM → Contacts and confirm the new contact and mapped values.

Brevo may hide custom attributes by default. To show them:
- On the contacts list, open Customize columns.
- In Attributes visible as columns, select the attributes you want (for example,
NEEDS,BUDGET,MESSAGE). - Click Save.

Optional: Create a Brevo automation
After contacts sync successfully, you can automate follow-up in Brevo. Example: send a welcome email when a contact is added to your UpForm list.
- In Brevo, go to Automations → Workflows.
- Click Create an automation.

- Create a workflow from scratch or use a template such as Welcome message.

- Set the trigger to Contact added to list, then select the same list you mapped in UpForm.

- Add a delay if you want (immediate, minutes, hours, or days).

- Choose the email template, confirm the from address and subject, then finish the steps.

Use Brevo’s Test option before you activate the automation. When everything looks correct, activate the workflow.
If this does not work as expected, Contact for help.
